The sun burns down
on the garden full of color, full of life

Wind blows, flowers sway,
butterflies dance…..

A hummingbird makes a brief appearance
before zooming off into the trees

My camera readies, my hands steady…
to capture the zinnias swaying in the breeze

The clear blue sky in the background
and the colorful flowers lifting up towards the sky

When that unmistakable hummingbird hum
captures my attention

And into my swaying zinnias, clear blue sky picture
arrives the hummingbird

And then just as magically as she appeared,
after just enough time for me to click the camera button…

The hummingbird flies away
leaving me in awe and grateful for her presence

Leaving me thankful for garden magic
and the beautiful hum of a hummingbird
